Support The Cause

While there is no "official" race this year, you can still support the Boys & Girls Club.

Plus, register now for the 2021 race with the deal of lifetime.
The uncertainty around the Coronavirus outbreak has led the Mt. Baldhead Challenge Race Directors to replace this year's race with alternative events.
Please know that this decision was not one that was made lightly. We weighed MANY different options, we met on Zoom more frequently than we saw our families, and we listened to the experts.
Don't go throwing your running shoes in the trash quite yet though. We still have a plan!

So. What now?

Preserving the unique experience that the Mt. Baldhead Challenge provides to multi-terrain runners was a critical element of the decision to look to 2021 for the 21st running of the Challenge. Moreover, safety remains our first priority, and we simply couldn't ensure it with our crowded starts, narrow trails, and on those 300-plus stairs. We owe it to our wide geographic base of runners, our volunteers, and our community to err on the side of caution.

The Mt. Baldhead Challenge has always been about community, healthy lifestyles, and a whole lot of hard work. We plan to continue promoting these ideals, even if we can't do so with an in-person race.

How are we going to do that? By continuing to support the Boys & Girls Club of Saugatuck/Douglas.

The Mt. Baldhead Challenge has become The Rotary Club of Saugatuck/Douglas' major annual fundraising event. Last year's net proceeds of $75,000 were earmarked to help launch new after school and summer programming for students in the Saugatuck Public Schools in partnership with Rotary and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holland. The COVID-19 Pandemic has caused a lot of disruption, including delaying the launch of the Boys & Girls Club of Saugatuck/Douglas until such time (hopefully in early 2021)  that the safety of the kids, the staff, and the volunteers can be more readily assured. We remain committed to that program despite the tough current fundraising environment for the Club and all non-profits.
